Egg donation offers hope to women who are unable to conceive using their own eggs.It allows a woman with healthy ovarian reserves to provide eggs to individuals with low or no egg reserve due to age or other factors. At Origyn Fertility & IVF Centre, our egg donation program is ethical, transparent, and fully compliant with the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021. We work exclusively with registered ART banks, ensuring that all donors are carefully screened and counseled as per national guidelines. Who Require Egg Donation?

Egg donation may be recommended for women who have no ovaries, very low egg quality due to age or unexplained reasons, a history of repeated IVF failures, premature ovarian failure (menopause before 40), or a genetic condition that could be passed to the child.

How we Choose Suitable Donor for the Couple

Donors are routed through ART bank, chosen by consultant who are under 35 years of age with proven fertility, closely matching the intended mother’s appearance and blood group. Evaluation includes medical history and examination, basic investigations along with ultrasound (AFC), AMH and Thalassemia testing. Psychological counseling is done wherever required. All treatments are conducted at our center. Egg donation is anonymous, and patients receive detailed donor profiles without revealing identity. IVF success with donor eggs is high (60–70%).

An Egg Donor Program allows women who are unable to produce healthy eggs to achieve pregnancy using eggs donated by another woman. It is commonly recommended for women with low ovarian reserve, premature ovarian failure, advanced maternal age, genetic disorders, or those who have undergone cancer treatments.
2. How are egg donors selected?
Egg donors go through a strict medical, psychological, and genetic screening process before being approved. Only women who are physically healthy, mentally fit, and free from infectious or hereditary diseases are accepted to ensure the highest standards of safety and success.
3. Is the identity of the egg donor kept confidential?
Yes. Egg donation is completely confidential and anonymous in most cases. The recipient does not know the donor’s personal identity, but detailed information such as age, physical characteristics, education, and medical history may be shared.
4. What is the success rate of pregnancy with donor eggs?
Success rates with donor eggs are generally higher than with self-eggs, especially when the donor is young and healthy. On average, pregnancy rates with donor eggs can reach 50–60% per cycle, depending on other fertility factors of the recipient.
5. Are there any risks associated with using donor eggs?
Using donor eggs is safe, but as with any fertility treatment, there are some risks. These may include reactions to fertility medications, chances of multiple pregnancies, or implantation failure. However, risks are carefully managed through close medical monitoring.
